After 5 months of learning and growing, Mycosortia joined BIV Cohort 6 Demo Day on Dec 1st, 2022, at Singapore National Gallery with other 15 fellow start-ups. We pitched our technology and showcased our prototypes to investors, leading corporates, partners and over 150 industry insiders within the alternative protein ecosystem. Demo Day marked the closure of our cohort’s accelerator program. It is a wonderful and memorable experience.
Entrepreneurship is a hard work. It started from forming an idea and assembling a team, followed by a series of de-risking processes. We de-risk the raw material supply chain, its consistency, technical problems such as taste and texture, food safety and regulatory approval, upscaling problems, market size, consumer’s demand and acceptance, so on and so forth. Despite our quite an early-stage status, Big Idea Ventures laid its trust on us. BIV invested us with the first barrel of gold to start and provided us with the intensive and comprehensive accelerator program.
Within the five months, we had serious weekly strategy meetings to update what we have achieved and what we were trying to do in the following week. We tried to achieve one milestone after another with BIV team’s guidance.
Moreover, a series of workshops were conducted to us weekly to equip us with necessary knowledge, skills, information and network as the start-up founders. We were introduced to many mentors and investors. We improved our pitch decks and practiced our pitching. We learn, we improve, and we grow with BIV team’s relentless guidance and supports. Besides, BIV team also offered us with their valuable friendship and support when we went through ups and downs in our entrepreneurship journey.
It is a very worthwhile experience to join BIV’s accelerator program. By so doing, we have joined BIV’s start-up community, forming long-lasting friendship with fellow start-up founders. We learn and support from each other, and we grow together. It is such a joy to be a portfolio start-up of BIV. Words cannot sufficiently express our gratitude to BIV and BIV team.
