Jetro Singapore – Japan Fast Track Pitch Event

It is our privilege that Mycosortia was selected one of the finalist startups for the Jetro Singapore – Japan Fast Track Pitch Event held on April 20, 2023, at Shangri – La Singapore. Eight challenge owners presented their challenges and 22 startups presented their solutions. In fact, in the event majority of the challenges were in med tech. AI and smart management were majority of the solutions. Quite a number of startups are quite established. Details of the event can be found HERE.

It is interesting to mingle with participants from organizers such as Jetro Singapore, Embassy of Japan in Singapore, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Singapore Economic Development Board, Enterprise Singapore, and from challenge owners, fellow startups in food tech and companies in other fields. It is a good opportunity of learning and networking. Thanks to organizers for putting up this wonderful event.

FTIC Food Tech Start-up Challenge 2023

Mycosortia entered the finalist at of the FTIC Food Tech Start-up Challenge organized by Nurasa, The Trendlines Agrifood Innovation Centre, A*STAR’s Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI) and Enterprise Singapore. Thanks to the organizing committee for giving us this opportunity. We look forward to working with colleagues from SIFBI and peer start-ups in the coming few months to expedite our product development and commercialization.

Pitching at Action Community for Entrepreneurship: ACE

It is a good start of the new year. We were invited to pitch at CorporACEtion Exchange organized by Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) today. We met like-minded founders and potential investors/partners. Through this activity, we were further enrolled into the startup ecosystem in Singapore. Thanks for giving us this opportunity.

Big Idea Ventures Cohort 6 Demo Day

After 5 months of learning and growing through BIV’s accelerator programs, Mycosortia joined BIV Cohort 6 Demo Day at Singapore National Gallery with other 15 fellow startups. We pitched our technology and showcased our prototypes to investors, leading corporates, partners and over 150 industry insiders within the alternative protein ecosystem. Great appreciation is given to BIV team and mentors who provide us such a comprehensive accelerator program. It is such a joy to be part of this memorable event. While preparation is tiring, once it is done, it is a relief and an accomplishment.

Pitching at Bio Idea Ventures Cohort 6 Demo Day on Dec 1st, 2022

Mycosortia will pitch at Big Idea Ventures Cohort 6 Demo Day at the National Gallery Singapore on 1st December. For the first time, we are going to showcase our novel food developed using our functional protein powder FibProtTM derived from okara, the byproduct from soymilk and tofu industries.

Joining Cohort 6 startups of Big Idea Ventures _Oct 4, 2022

It is our great honor that Mycosortia has joined Big Idea Ventures’ 6th Cohort of startup. As a result, we received the pre-seed investment from BIV and started our alternative protein journey with other fellow startups in Cohort 6. Mycosortia converts food side streams that are unfit for human consumption into edible alternative protein products using our microbial consortia fermentation. With the investment from BIV we aim to scale up and commercialize our microbial fermented and plant-based proteins as green labeled food ingredients and products. Details can be found HERE.

ESG FoodTech Deal Fridays on Aug 26, 2022

On 26 Aug 2022, Mycosortia and other 9 food technology (FoodTech) startups participated Deal Fridays organized by Accelerating Asia and the Food Manufacturing team at Enterprise Singapore to pitch our innovative business ideas on stage. Presenting to more than 60 investors and industry experts, we showcased our innovative food ingredients derived out of okara, the byproduct generated in tofu and soybean milk industries. Together with other startups, we also had a great time at the post-event networking session, participating the fruitful discussions and savouring new food creations prepared by other participating startups.
